Ah, the joy of being a student. I am sitting here in the Uchida Computer Lab at 921 Boylston Street. I am one of the eight temps here for add drop. The guy next to me is currently helping a student with an earring attached to a nose ring, who is wearing a tank with a fishnet shirt over it. His tattoos are showing up pretty clearly through the mesh. And I wonder why people keep asking me if I'm a student. Guess I look like one with my own multiple piercings and tattoos.

I am here until the 20th of September, and then I go back out into the real world. A world where people look at you strangely for wanting tattoos and to run a marathon. Which reminds me. The Boston Marathon has made it easier for people to enter (not people in their 20s and 30s, older people). But this still might be the year I run the Marathon.

Well, it's not quite time for lunch (not that lunch is really an option), and we've all been asked to log out of the registration system. There is some error that IT needs to track down.

Computers. When they fail it is alternately amusing and maddening. When they fail during any crunch period, it goes beyond maddening to mind destroying (you see, just another form of maddening). We have students trying to add and drop classes (see, my temp assignments are mentally stimulating, difficult, and wondrous), some of which are willing to wait and others who left in a huff.

So, I am just sitting here filling in a journal entry with inconsequentialities. See the pretty word: inconsequentialities.

So, what is going on today? Email, internet, data entry, lots of books (I finished rereading Elvenbane this morning, and I am on Lady Knight). Nothing too hard there.

Well, maybe I should go back to work.
