The morning
1 August 2003 06:56I find I have a fairly sore throat this morning. I am pretty sure it is an effect of air conditioning, because I often get like this. So, I am glad that the AC was off last night and that I survived tolerably well. (It could theoretically be an allergy, but to what I would have no idea).
Tonight I am going to Carmen. I will be sitting on the right hand side of the stage in the back of the first set of seats or in the front of the second set. That way I have been assured I can see action and not just see conductor.
( Pumpkin Ice Cream )
I finished Emma last night at about 0030. The ending was not a surprise to me, because I had seen both the movie, Emma, as well as Clueless, which is based on the book.
It was actually fascinating to read this book and pull from it the different characters in Clueless. There is the Emma, known as Cher. There is her Mr. Knightly. Some of the character names are the same (which is more striking). And I can read the book and point to each scene as if playing connect the dots. Very good.
I am about to start The Fifth Mountain by Paulo Coelho, because what little I read made me think of Chloe and her growth as a person, both from rather indifferent spiritualism (before the start of game) to having made a conscious decision to make a path with her God and be one of his hands on earth. (I had a quote from the book, which I appear to have lost, which summed up why I think it makes a good reflection on her.)
